NOW I'm "Cookin' With Gas", and what's not to like? We recently camped at a CA state park, near Mendocino, and the weather & coastal climate put this little stove to the test. Passed with flying colors in less than friendly conditions, including windy, very hot, very cold, and even in the rain. Take if from a 49 year old Eagle Scount, whose used all manner of camping equipment, under almost every condition... this stove rocks.

As of today, I will have ordered and returned three of these stoves, all of which were defective out of the box. The first had a warped grate or stove top (not sure which), which prevented the grate from sitting firmly in place (it wobbled like a table with a short leg). The second and third both had deformed bases (stamped metal that wasn't stamped properly) and so did not match up with either the stove top or the lid, leaving open holes and jagged edges along what should have been a snug seam. If I were Coleman, I'd be pressing my Chinese suppliers for compensation for the consistently shoddy manufacture/assembly of one of my core products. I will look for something else at this point.

Overall: This is a good stove for car camping or outdoor cooking. Positives: - Set up and operation is easy - Burners can put out a huge or tiny amount of heat as needed; controls are excellent. - Fuel is inexpensive and readily available Negatives: - The stove should have rubber leveling feet for safe use on non-flat surfaces. - Pushing the igniter pushes the stove. Again, it needs rubber feet. Troubleshooting: A common problem with the spark lighter is that the sparker is slightly misaligned. To fix, bend the sparker a little bit so the spark was in the right spot relative to the burner.

For the price, this is a very nice stove. One burner lights easily with the "insta-spark" method; the other burner is more stubborn, but does light after 5 or 6 clicks. There is plenty of heat available from each burner, and the windscreens (sides and rear) do a good job. I haven't used up a full canister of propane, yet; but from the sound of the gas whooshing through those burners, I suspect Coleman's estimate of how long a canister will last are... well, "not conservative". The only thing I would have changed in the design is to add a friction hinge to the top lid. There is absolutely nothing to prevent that lid from crashing all the way over, unless you hold it and gently lower it. My first opening sure got my attention when that metal lid went banging over onto the table top. Now that I know what to expect, no big deal, but a friction hinge would be a nice touch. Thumbs up! Buy one and get the coffee on... it'll be hot in no time!

Stove unlike our tent, performed pretty good. It heats VERY quick and we are happy we went with this model-lots of hot water quickly which is what we wanted-even boiled a large pot fast for corn on the cob! The only problem we had is when the burners get wet from rain, the auto-lighter doesn't work. Lighting manually with a lighter results in burnt fingers due to layout but otherwise, a great product and one we would recommend.
